Internet date-scared shitless callaway: Ok, so I've met someone over the net and I think I'm in love. Didn't know you could fall in love with someone before meeting them but here I am. We started out as friends and I had absolutely not a thought about getting romantically involved. Now we've set up a first date on saturday to see if there's any chemistry in real life. And I'm terrible nervous.  I feel literally sick. It's also a long distance thingee(300 km away). And there's a third person involved on the other side, also a long distance realtionship that's been going on for 4 years. But basically leading nowhere. God how did I get involved in something this complicated, my life is a soap. I dunno if I'm just having jitters about my first online IRL date, if i feel bad for beeing a possible relationship breaker? And I feel like I'm heads over heals and what if it's just a big dissapointment. I'm soo confused. Heeelp!
Re: Internet date-scared shitless dre: I was fealing sick last night too.

Every guy I ever meet my mom tells me that Im foolish to think that they are for real.

Then she always turns out to be right in the end.

Because its been every guy so far.

I hate her.

She is mean.

Re: Internet date-scared shitless jillieb44: Go to the meeting with an open mind with no expectations.  Just think about having fun, a chance to get to know someone.

No matter what was said over the phone about falling in love, take it slow.  I had a guy run away the second I said 'I really like you' after  HE had been the forward one on the phone.

good luck!
Re: Internet date-scared shitless isp34: As funny as this sounds, it applies well to this situation...

Remember that Jim Carey movie Liar, Liar, when he is in the courtroom and he shouts:

YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS....AND THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be honest with yourself when you get there, and honest with them...if it is going to happen, it will.

Good Luck!!
Re: Internet date-scared shitless nic1025: See, in my situations I've felt *super* comfortable with a man before over the phone and then in person - not so much.  It was something as simple has how they smelled that put me off or a manierism that they have that you don't know about.  I think being on the phone and online can be very tricky because you fall in love with who you imagine this person to be in your mind and sometimes they are that person and sometimes they're not.....and when they're not, it hurts horribly.  Be so careful and just take it slow!  Def. don't show up with any expectations and don't be surprised if he turns out being a little different than what you thought it person.  Unfortunately it does happen.  Then again, some people meet and it's instant chemistry and they live happily ever after.......so good luck!!  :P
