Office Anger Management Plucky: How am I supposed to keep from snapping in this situation?
For almost 2 hours, my boss sat on his a** in the office next to mine and yelled out across the floor to our two clerks instead of getting up and walking the 12 steps or so to their cubicles. Speakerphone was going and the three of them were yelling back and forth. Then, he plops down in my visitor chair and proceeds to tell me about everything that I just heard him yelling about. He also decided that 9:45am on my busiest day of the week is a good time to talk about what he made for dinner last night and to comment on the stacks of waiting work I have on my desk.
Here's what I did: I advised him that I'm in a bad mood because of some work issues this morning. He continued blabbing. I said again, "I'm just letting you know, I'm in a bad mood and probably not the best person to chat with this morning." What I wanted to say was, "Get your lazy a** out of my office before I lose it!"
I don't know how other people work in the office environment without losing it every once in a while. I guess I'm not cut out for it much.
Re: Office Anger Management genesplicer: Hmm.... I would have just used your original line... ;)
But I work in a fairly.... shall we say laid back environment... ::)
Re: Office Anger Management Plucky: Ok, here's a WTF moment for ya. My boss just came in here, sat down and said, "I'm going to take a break in here where the view from the window is better". Aren't the smart ones supposed to be in power? I've run him out of here 4 times today, now! Sheesh!
Re: Office Anger Management gulfcoast: sounds like he might like the view but it isn't the one outside the window....
;)
Re: Office Anger Management Plucky: Believe me, honey, he's not worried about my view. Now, if I had different equipment....
