First thing is to decide wheather you need a lawyer or not. In a lot of states, if you don't have any significant assets or kids, then you might, might be able to go it alone. But if he decides to lawyer up, you should too. Most of my experience is in CO. There, you can file a no-fault and get out in as little as 6 months. If both parties agree on all the assets.
