You need to figure out why you feel so insecure and then deal with it. This would help you in this or future relationships. Having said that...I can see why you would be insecure in this relationship.
Don't play games with her. Be who you are...whatever that is..whther alpha male or not. Don't sell your soul to the devil just because you're fearful of what might happen if you are who you are with her. If you can't be you with her then you probably shouldn't be together. Why don;t you try talking with her about your concerns ? the worse that can happen is that you'll know how she feels.

Yuo might want to think about building up your level of confidence and independence. Working with a therapists or whatever would be a good idea i guess although i'm not a huge fan.... i'm no expert but i think that if you work on yourself and imporve your confidence and sense of independence the quality of your relationships will also improve. Anyways...its food for thought.
