Need help preparing for DEPOSITION PLEASE! LittleMinnow: My stbxh's lawyer is deposing me May 16. I'm terrified. I don't know what to expect, what he is allowed to ask me about and what he is not allowed to ask me about. I don't know what lawyers normally do ask about in depositions. I have to turn in my answers to the numbers 1-30 of the Arizona Uniform Interrogatories along with my AFI tomorrow with complete back-up documentation to my lawyer tomorrow. I don't know all the answers to some of the questions, so I'm worried that will be held against me in court and brought up in the deposition. I know his lawyer prides himself on making women cry at depositions because he's the same lawyer my husband used in his child custody case against his ex-wife. (I'm ex wife #3). Anyway, if there are any lawyers out there or other divorcees who have been deposed, any help would be appreciated!

He was never added to the deed. However, my dad's LLC sold me the property and because I got sick and couldn't work during the marriage, I never had to make any payments on the mortgage (my dad's company), so I don't know how that's going to look. My ex and I shared no joint accounts of any kind. I paid all the household bills for us including his son. We bought no property together during our 2 year marriage. I do not know why he is dragging me into a deposition. I offered him $7500 to settle out of court just to be rid of him but he blew that offer. So now, he is getting sued by my dad for hay he fed to his horses that belonged to my dad and for half of all the short term loan payments my dad loaned to me during our marriage which I used to pay all the household bills, insurance, taxes, etc. Those loans come out to about $30K so split that and he owes $15K to my dad plus another $4K for hay plus another $1K for a lawyer bill my dad paid for him. On my behalf, I owe no creditor except my father's company. I kept my credit card bill paid off, no student loans, no car payments. Where did his money go? I have no idea, but it certainly wasn't to pay for repair and upkeep of our ranch. Anyway, he stole about $3K of my things when he vacated the house and left about $3K worth of damages too. He's just an ass and ball-less wonder no matter how you slice it. He took the gifts he gave me for my birthday and Christmas last year, AND had no problem taking the kitchen table and chairs my mom gave him as a gift for his birthday. JERK.
Anyway, just wondering what the heck this lawyer is likely to ask me about.
