It actually isn't serious. I find it rather funny and that's why I just make a bet every time a guy contacts me on messenger to see how many lines it will last.
POF = Plenty of Fish -- It's a free online dating site. I joined out of curiosity, but I never went back. First because I find it silly and second because I'm an English speaking latina in the middle of French Canada, so I don't get to meet any people that way. I did try a French dating site... EWWW! I was out of there 3 weeks later, after I got: 1) An invitation to a guy's room in a hotel and 2) A marriage proposal. Ha ha ha!
I know some day I'll meet a nice guy. Hopefully local.

One guy IM'd me one time and we had literally been talking for 5 minutes - where we each described ourselves and then he asked for my cell phone number....I responded, 'Ummmm....No...' He writes back, 'Whatever.'

If your going to do online dating at all seriously then may I suggest buying a prepaid cell phone? you can reg it under a fake name ;) beleive me it's worth it! this way if the stooge is weird you can just hang up on him/her and everything is secret and 100% safe :)

Forget I'ming it isn't that good as far as I'm concerned way too much chat and not really enough info is ever given on that particular form of communication i m is good for creating friend/buddy lists for online chatting but sucks for real dating if you ever want to take it to the next level, I have been double matched on hon and I just delete someone who wants to have what I call an Im relationship, my reasons...takes to long to try to figure the person out and too many games can be played doing it this way as well, the prepaid cell is the way to go IMHO
