Re: The Chronicles of Life Outside the Box alonewith2: I got out of work an hour early today.  I had made plans with the stbx to go to Walmart, but when I came through town, I saw G's car at the bar and knew he was working. So I called my stbx (who lives right next to the bar), and told him to just meet me there instead of coming here. So I get to the bar, and G smiles at me.  He doesn't come right over because he was talking to other people...so I sit down at the corner of the bar where the little game thing is and started playing some games.

Finally, he comes over and asks me if I want anything to drink....so I say that I'll have a Diet Pepsi, but that I would also like a 6 pack of Coors light to go. So he asks why I'm drinking tonight and I say it's because the Yankees are playing tonight. He gets my Diet Pepsi and my 6 pack, takes my money, gives me my change back and then goes down to the other end of the bar and starts talking to some guy and his kid.

Finally, the guy and his kid leave....so he makes his way back to my end of the bar, and asks what I'm doing. I said that I was waiting, and he asked what I was waiting for.  So I told him that I was waiting for my stbx to come. Then he asks me if that was my son.  I thought he meant the kid that had just left, but he said no not that kid....then it dawned on me that he meant the kid who found him in the bathroom at my house. Just as I was about to say yes it was and ask him what happened in the bathroom that morning... my stbx walked in so G walked away.

But then he came back over and asked me who the Yankees were playing tonight, and I said Boston.  And that last night they killed us and that's why I had to get beer just in case....and he said, so you are definitely getting drunk then right?  I said, "Hey! That's not nice!" Then he walked away to wait on a customer, but the stbx wanted to leave....so we left.

So a little more communication...not sure how much progress, but I'm still looking forward to going out Friday night!  ;)

Re: The Chronicles of Life Outside the Box katelyn: You need to flirt more. You sound abrupt! :)

Well, at least he's got good taste! ;)

I think it's great that you're taking these steps into the unknown, SNB!  Good luck with it all!
Re: The Chronicles of Life Outside the Box YellowJacket: AW2, I tend to agree with katelyn.  This guy liked you once so the door is certainly open to flirt with him.  He works in a bar so you can bet that he's very used to women flirting.  It's possible that he's reading your signs and thinking you don't flirt very much and so he's hesitant.

For example when he made the joke about getting drunk you responded with "hey, that's not nice!"  That's pushing him away a bit.  It was a perfect opportunity to flirt and saying something like "Wanna bet?"  that would have opened him up to a safe avenue of revealing what he might have wanted to bet for (hopefully a date with you).

I'd think with you not liking him in the past when he liked you that you will really have to be obvious to him this time.  He may be feeling once bitten twice shy.
