Re: Drugs Anyone? INCT: I had xanex, and it worked just fine.I didn't have any side effects. It allowed me to think clearly and sleep with out having raging dreams.

I concur call the doc and check with them.

Hey db2: I hear you on the wellbutrin!!

Re: Drugs Anyone? dominowin: I just had to start taking Xanax due to some real anxiety meltdowns this past month. I'm hoping it's a short-term solution to this problem, but I'm happy with it so far. It really has helped me feel better without making me feel druggy and tired. I had tried Clonopin first which was absolutely awful. Even half a dose made me feel out of it for the whole day. I don't like taking any drugs, but it's a definite necessity at the moment.  :-/

Re: Drugs Anyone? achingallover: Yah - I've got 2 different folks telling me 2 different things here.  I placed a call to my therapist and told her about the side effects I am experiencing.  She told me they were normal - and that with antidepressants, because of waht they are chemically doing to you, you will feel crappy for about a week while your system is getting used to them.  So, then I called my doc and when I told her the symptoms I was having - she told me to stop taking them adn I will see her next week so we could discuss it then.

O.K. PEOPLE!!! WHICH IS IT?!?!  :-X
(I wondered when I would ever get the opportuntiy to use that emoticon!  ;))

Anyway, yeh, the Xanax I haven't much considered becuase of it's addictive properties.  My mother was addicted to Halcion, so anything that is addicitive (which my chemical dependency teacher told me Xanax can be after just 10 days of useage - yikes!) I steer clear of.  I actully have a perscription, as I was planning to use it for a specific event where my stbx was that was goign to be really stressful - a wedding out of state - I needed something to work instantly, which Xanax does.  I ended up not going to the wedding so I never took the Xanax.  I'm just trying to figure out if this whole antidepressant thing is worth the effort. ??? :P  I, like some of you guys, prefer not to take anything, but apparently my anxiety level is so high and my blood pressure is through the roof - so I need to take precautions.

Hum.  I'll let you know how it turns out. AND thanks so much everyone for all your posts.  It gives me some idea of other folks experiences.

Re: Drugs Anyone? pisces_goddess: I took Celexa once too & it worked for like a minute so I tried it another time &   had a violent reaction ..so did a friend of mine.. I have also had similar reactions to most of the SSRI's out there.. serzone, zoloft, paxil, trazadone, xanax, buspar.. blah blah! *L* Anyway a friend of mine takes a form of celexa and then takes just a small dose of clonazapam with it which I have been on for a couple years now and its the only thing that works.. You could be like me and have an allergy to SSRI's ..they will try and tell you that  you CANT be allergic to them.. but I know from experience it can happen.. GOOD LUCK!
HUGS :)
Re: Drugs Anyone? achingallover: ugh.  Thanks for the input.  This is turning out to be more stressful than my divorce!  ::)

I'd probably blow it off if I hadn't been to the doc yesterday and she said my blood pressue was 148 and it's usually 117.  She thought that was really bad.  So, now, I feel compelled to do something about this. It's like, I've been stressed and under such trauma for 2 months now, I no longer can judge my level of stress!

This sucks, guys.
