Re: What to do??? 2be: That is a tough one. The woman I'm dating now didn't have a pic in hers when she emailed me. She sent them to me after an email or two and um... WOW! She took them down because she was getting a thousand creepy, sexual stalking emails from guys.
I just received another email yesterday from a woman with no pic. I told her I would only chat with her as a friend since i'm involved, but I still will ask for a pic. Not because I care what she looks like, but I just like to know who I'm talking to. Plus, those people who front with super old photos or some other misrepresentation of who they are... I don't trust. If you're not going to be honest with who you are up front, then I don't want to even be your friend.
But as to your question... I don't know if there is any etiquette. Once you ask for a photo and then turn them down, it's hard NOT to come to the conclusion that you're making a decision based on that pic. Part of me would want to be honest, but the other part would want to make a small white lie excuse to let them down easy.
:( I dunno... that's difficult.

There are too many (does that sound obnoxious?), it would be way too time consuming to give everyone a shot. I'm sorry, that sounds so bad. I'm not all that, believe me. And to prove it, I've only hhoked up with 1 so far, so looks aren't everything apparently. The minute I open my cyber-mouth something seems to scare them away ???

That's what I'm kind of afraid may be happening. So I'm tempted to take my pic down altogether, but then I would go thru the same thing.

A little white lie?? hmmm... that could work... but would be wrong!!! I dunno either. Maybe change my profile to note that I will only answer profiles with pics?? That is so obnoxious!!
Re: What to do??? 2be: I don't think it's obnoxious at all. You could say something like:
Please either have pics in your profile or send them to me, because although I don't judge someone by their photo, I like to put a face with your words. Please send me recent photos and be honest. If you're not being realistic in your photos, it starts the relationship off on a dishonest foundation, and that is not something I wish to be a part of.
At least, that is what I would say. ;)

but having a pic. gives some idea.. , I mean pics can and do lie! but I think it narrows down the possibilility for a REAL horror show scenario, as far as head shots.. I hate to say it but I always ask for more pics if If that's what they have posted.. if I get more head shots I won't bother..
