A) If you DON'T like her/him, get up in the middle of dinner because you "forgot something in your car" and then drive away.
B) If you DO like her/him ... I don't know. I haven't gotten that far before.

This guy didn't say that.
But there's a lot more wrong for a woman handing him the bronze when he believes he worked hard for the gold. Granted, don't give him the gold, but don't treat him like a performer.
Men, don't qualify yourselves. Be yourself. Refuse the medals. Accept your mettle.
