Airplane Tickets!
.

Airplane Tickets! twetifb: For the past six weeks I’ve been contemplating moving to California.  My boss, who I love dearly, has received a huge promotion and he’s moving his family out to northern California to head up four offices in the bay area.  I took the news extremely hard because I have a wonderful working and personal relationship with him, his wife, and their kids.  Anyways, I’m assisting him in the initial set up of the new employees and helping from a far to get the offices up and running smoothly.  Last Wednesday he brought a local newspaper home with him from Cali and left it on my desk with the apartments for rent in the area highlighted.  On Friday, he gave me an offer letter with all the perks that I mentioned I’d need in order to consider transferring.  I spoke to my family about it a little on Mother’s Day and they’re all supportive of any decision I make.  Well, this morning I received an airline ticket from the company to visit the offices the week of Memorial Day.  My head is spinning!!!  I’m a Chicago girl through and through but the thought of starting over somewhere else is very exciting!  We’ll see how the mini trip goes…I know this is just another trick up my bosses sleeve to make me cave.
Re: Airplane Tickets! sosad05: Good luck!! The beginning of a new journey for you! It sounds awesome  :)

Re: Airplane Tickets! timetobefree: You already know what I think! ;D

Although that moves you further from me! But long-lost twins can't be separated by distance!

Re: Airplane Tickets! twetifb: ttbf~  It's just a fantasy right now...not reality.  I emailed a close friend who moved out to the same area 3 years ago and asked him if he'd show me around.  I think the drive to visit you next week will be a good time to really think about what it is I want and where I'm heading.  I don't want to move there and have anyone (or myself) think I'm running away like my stbx did.  I don't know what will happen...we'll see.
Re: Airplane Tickets! timetobefree: I think either way, you'll be happy. You love Chicago...and I think you'd enjoy CA for a while as well. Plus, what an ego boost for your boss to wanting to bring you along this badly!

On a side note, when I first read it, I thought it said the tickets were for Memorial Day WEEKEND, and I freaked out! ;D
