Are humans meant to be with 1 person "forever"??? audi_driver: I was just watching a show on Discovery the other night when I started to think about the fact that humans are like animals in so many ways and many animals DO NOT stay with the same mate for their entire lives.....
So the question is:
Are we meant to find one person or are we fighting against the grain?
Re: Are humans meant to be with 1 person "forever"??? toofreshtothinkright: don't get me started....:)
Re: Are humans meant to be with 1 person "forever"??? 2be: The difference between us and animals is love. Animals don't love. So we choose to love a single person for our entire life. We are capable of love with many, many different people.
Soul mates do not exist. That is a myth that has done nothing but cause pain to the human psyche.
And the people who bounce between partners in a shallow search for sex are no better than animals.

I disagree......I believe that mothers love their babies whether they are puppies, kittens, cubs or humans......If she didn't love them, she wouldn't protect them. Now you can say it's instinct but what would you say to the mom who protects her baby from someone....."You don't love your baby...it's just instinct."
If you look at the precentages on divorce and then add some more people on top of that that dont get caught or are not honest about it, you will see that almost EVERY relationship has someone cheatng....Whether once or multiple times........sad but true
Re: Are humans meant to be with 1 person "forever"??? 2be: Ah but you're talking motherly love. It may be instinct it may be a motherly love, but your original question was about animals being with one partner for life. With a few exceptions, there are no animals that do that.
Still, even with animals that chose to mate for life, I don't think it is LOVE. Love is a choice that only we humans make with a partner...
