Re: Anyone rebound? How did you feel? 2be: I've heard some say that the first relationship after your breakup will be a rebound, regardless. I think that is a load of hooey. Rebounding only happens when you or the other person is coming into the relationship trying to make up for the past relationship. Trying to fill up some hole or prove that they are loveable. Those relationships won't work.
Now, I got involved with this woman 7 months after it hit the fan, one month after I moved out, and just before I was officially divorced. Is it a rebound? I don't think so. It may or may not work out (leaning more toward NOT at this point :() but I am confident it is not a rebound.

Re: Anyone rebound? How did you feel? jerseygirl: Yes - after the divorce was final. I felt the need to "up my number" after the ex cheated on me, so it was totally a rebound. Come to think about it, most of the "relationships" the year after the divorce were rebounds. It took some time alone to evaluate my life, and once I did that I found that I was really happy and content on my own. It wasn't so bad - I didn't need sex or a boyfriend to validate me. hard lesson learned on my part, but looking back I guess I just had my own timeline for dealing with things and coming out of the denial.
I do regret it, but at the time I felt it was important. :-\
