Decisions startingover: Why do decisions have to be so damn hard? One way or the other I am left with questions. Is it better to leave things the way they are and always have some lingering doubt, or open a can of worms I may not like the answers to?
Re: Decisions star13erin: I am in the same boat about decisions and it is really tough. I guess it depends on the situation and if you feel you are being taken advantage of.
Re: Decisions chiefkyle: Rule number one, NEVER ASK DETAILS!
I did, and was damn near about to kill the wife, when I got the answer. Not worth the pain. Do yourself a favor, don't ask. Please.
Re: Decisions MikeB: I think the question why decisions are so hard is the wrong one... because the answer to this doesn't actually help you.
Decisions are hard when the options -from your current point of view- have equal (or near equal) value...when they're equally attractive or repulsive...
Situations where this is the case are called lemmata, or -when there are two options- dilemmas.
The question is how to deal with such situations... and it's a damn hard one.
My advice - which sadly isn't worth much because everyone does this on his/her own - is to reexamine the options and your wants, needs, aversions and affections...
Conduct thought experiments - what would be the best- and what would be the worst-case scenario for each option, and how likely is each outcome...
Then do some introspection to find out exactly what you want the outcome of your decision to be like, why you want that outcome. wether your inclination towards this outcame has a solid foundation in your character and your moral code... and in the end ask yourself which decision will most probably produce an outcome that fits best with your character and moral code... and then decide...
Sorry I couldn't be of much help...
Take care,
-Mike
