I tried to volunteer at the local humane societies and the training classes are full for the next two rounds so they wont have an opening for nine months! I thought that was insane!
I've been working out more and that has been helping. I just feel so damned isolated sometimes!

Do a Google for your city's name and "5K". Participate in a race. It doesn't matter how fast or slow you are. If you hang around for the after party you will definitely meet a few people. If you keep going to races you'll keep seeing the same people. It's a good way to make friends.
