Benighted - Opeth MikeB: Come into this night
Here we'll be gone
So far away
From our weak and crumbling lives
Come into this night
When days are done
Lost and astray
In what's vanished from your eyes
What came and distorted your sight
Saw you benighted by your fright
Come into this night
Your plight alone
Carry your weight
You are flawed as all of us
Come into this night
Your only home
It's never too late
To repent, suffer the loss
What came and distorted your sight
Saw you benighted by your fright
Come into this night
When you're able
To undo your deeds
And atone with your lonely soul
Once you're into this night
All minds are stable
Forget all your needs
Lose the grip of all control

Mmmmm

-I just thought it's a beautiful song with nice lyrics and felt it would be worth posting...
And somehow I felt the lyrics kinda relate to all of this (not sure what exactly :))
Re: Benighted - Opeth sheydp: I don't even know if I can explain it... I could probably compose you pages of essay on it... Certain lines, or parts... just speak to me. I have never heard the song, part of me wants to very badly, but it also might ruin it. Don't know... it just spoke to me... (blushing badly now)
Shey
Re: Benighted - Opeth MikeB: Well, it's basically a piece for steel guitar and vocals (with bass-guitar and drums later on)
The melody of the guitar is extremely beautiful and the music matches the feeling of the lyrics (IMO) (the singer is also great, and it has a very nice little smooth, sad guitar solo (clean, not distorted))
It's very very beautiful
- Listening to it might still ruin it (after all, I don't know what you imagine it to be) - but I think you wouldn't be too disappointed...
You can download it here (it says it's public domain license)
I recommend the 64kb version in the category "Audio Files"...
(Just so you don't start wondering - the vocals start at 1:23, but the guitar-intro alone is worth lsitening to this song)
It's a beautiful piece... worth listening to IMO...
