The Ring test... skavachi: Ok, I was thinking about back in the day when I was married.
When I wore my ring, it seemed that I would get hit on a lot. Now that it is gone, it seems that I am not getting hit on. I am pretty much hanging out in the same type of places and dong most of the same things, so the variant is still the same. I have heard from a few of my friends that have said after getting married, they too got hit on a lot.
So, is this because we don't have that stench of desperation all around us?
Is it that we are "safe" for people to flirt with because most likely (if you are a stand up person) you won't do anything further than flirt?
Or is it that people like the challenge of trying to screw up someones relationship?
Just looking for some possible answers to this phenom?

Re:The Ring test... jason_stl: I think you may be on to something!
I used to assume they either liked married men because they didn't have to put up with the crap of a relationship or they were just power hungry and wanted to know they could fuck someone else's husband.
Either way, I think I am going to dig mine out and give it a go this coming weekend.
Re:The Ring test... Spectrum: Hey, my take is that you have that little edge of confidence and you're more relaxed, which makes you more approachable.
Spectrum.
Re:The Ring test... clambakesX: Another take ...
I've noticed that a lot of married guys PRESUME they're being "hit on" when the woman is just being friendly. The stakes in believing that are REALLY low for the guy - he doesn't have to test his interpretation of the woman's behavior, he can just enjoy the ego boost.
Re:The Ring test... skavachi: That could be true for a lot of people Medusa. A case of mistaken identity I suppose.
But what I am talking about when I say "hit on," I mean there were girls asking me to go home with them. I am friendly to everyone. AND I am dumb when it comes to people flirting with me. Some one could be trying to ask for my number and I just think they are being nice. I am slow I guess... ???
But I mean they were actually inviting me on a date or asking me home with them. I even passed up the golden opportunity for two women...grrr. Thinking back on it I guess I should have done it. Would have just cut to the chase... ;D
Well, this weekend is coming up and I am going to test out the old ring tonight!
Later all and have a good weekend!
