Re:The Ring test... skavachi: Yeah I thought about telling her about the experiment, but then I figured she would think that I was lying and just trying to be a bigger sleeze! lol ;D
The bar thing. Well, I go to my local dive with my friends on tuesday to play darts. I have met a lot of decent people there. Have met a lotof ass holes, but then again, that's not limited to bars. I meet all kinds of asses at school, stores, and espically when I am driving! ;)
I don't know if humanity has always been like it is today, but one thing is for sure, there have always been predators. If there is something for them to prey on, then they will always exist. I don't like it, but that's how it is I suppose.
Ring test...conclusive...It works. :D
By the way Jason...what happened with your test?

Re:The Ring test... jason_stl: Dave,
First, bear in mind that the experiment was done in the name of science so I can not be held responsible for the philanthropic contributions I made to society. Second, I haven't decided whether I feel guilty for what happened and lieing to someone, or vindicated.
Without going into much detail here it is:
Fake married man + two guy friends = went to a club
Single woman + married man = hit it off at the bar
Single woman + single woman's friends + my buddies + me = a good night.
Clubbing + East Side Saint Louis (strip joints) + the lot of us = even better night.
Me + single woman + buddy (wingman) + single woman's friend = In a Jeep on the way to Buddy's house.
Other friends + other single woman's friends = in own separate cars going to their respective homes
I hope it is as clear as mud without incriminating myself too much.
Re:The Ring test... picadilly: Even as a guy... the thought just disturbs me to no end.
hmm. oh well, human nature is disturbing in it's own right.
Re:The Ring test... Spectrum: See, now I've had a totally different experience.
I've been getting hit on WAY more now than I ever did when I was married or single.
In fact, strangely enough, I went clubbing with my friend in Minneapolis last weekend, and afterwards she told me, "Girl, what is UP with you? Seriously, I don't think I've EVER been out with anyone who got hit on this often!" It was like I got sprayed with something before I went out, I swear!
Now, I'm a cute girl, but I'm not THAT cute. I would say at least 1/3 of the women in the club (probably 50%) were physically more attractive than I was, and wearing more provocative clothing. However, I went out with the attitude that I didn't care if I got hit on, and I had a big smile on my face the entire night.... and I think it made me approachable. Plus, I didn't blow off a single guy who hit on me. If I wasn't interested, I wouldn't walk away, make faces, etc. I'd just keep dancing and smiling, and eventually either I or they would wander away. Either way, they had a good time for a little while and they didn't get insulted when they approached me.
At one point, I actually had a PARADE of guys stop and start dancing with me. We were by a stairway that led down to the dance floor, and guys would walk up, stop next to me and just smile and stare until I acknowledged them. Eventually they'd move on when I didn't respond, and another one would drop in. It was such a riot!
And I had at least two guys that followed me from the downstairs club to the upstairs club and back again- when there are about 300-400 people in a club, and you keep finding the same two guys smiling next to you despite repeatedly moving to new spots on the dance floor... I think it is safe to assume they are following you!
LOL... anyhow, I was NOT wearing my ring during this excursion!
