Re: SO.... brokenbaby: Now see, I knew I missed something when I got kicked out of Biology. I never should have boiled my teachers goldfish...
Re: SO.... Peaceandquiet: Its a mass brain f*uck! Because how did the egg come first if there was nothing to bear the egg and if there was something to bear the egg then where did it come from? I think its just one of those questions brought about in life to drive you crazy and one that you will never have the answer to. Now for some odd reason I want an omlet ;D
Re: SO.... brokenbaby: See, now I'm confused again. *sigh* I guess it's a good thing I am going to be a mediator and not a biologist.
Re: SO.... C-Note: The Egg Came first. What ever laid the egg didn't have to be a chicken. What hatched from the egg to become what we know as chicken mutated / evolved into the end result. This mutation became prevalent within the species enough for breeding pairs to gain a foot hold and thrive.
Similar to modern mans evolution or mutation from our ancestors who had thicker skulls, hairier a$$’s and a use for those huge wisdom teeth and appendix. I’m certain in another million years from now what ever humans evolve into will cause some alien to scratch their head and ask.. “What came first… the troglodyte or the homosapious maximus?” But it won’t matter cause they will be studying our fossils.

You're cutting the line off where it suits your argument.
What came before the egg layer? The asexual reproducer.
The line is essentially:
asexual cell division (single celled)
egg laying
live birth
If we're going to "which came first" we have to go all the way to the beginning.
