Gas & Electric/House Closing Anakari: Since the police escorted my ex out of the marital home, he's stuck me with all the bills. I got a Permanent Restraining Order against him in Dec. In the state of NJ, I found out he is not entitled to give me a cent and I won't get that money in the settlement.
Anyway, PSE&G allowed him to close out our house account (which was in his name) and open one up in my name which I was not even aware of, at first. He made me lose the budget plan for the house but when I called, they said they would fix it.
For 5 months now I have to call PSE&G up each month to argue over my billing. Spoken to countless supervisors, managers, etc, and was told so many different stories!
Anyway, the house is sold and the closing is due for week of June 1. I called PSE&G and told them to close the account that day. So I come home to a bill that was for $570!!! Money I do not have, because I'm broke and living with my parents now.
They claim that by closing the account now, before 1 year is up, I am not entitled to any "budget plan pricing". >:(
So I am refusing to give them a cent and will fax this over to the real estate lawyer and my divorce lawyer to get it paid at closing! I just cannot believe they royally forked me over billing wise. I told the supervisor tonight that they can come after me with a collection agency for all I care!
On top of that the house closing itself will be delayed because my ex's lawyer wants my lawyer to give them some sort of court order allowing him to get his junk out of the basement of the home. Total b.s because all he has to do is call the police and have them wait while he loads the U-Haul. Meanwhile, he's had the keys to the place for 2 solid weeks now and waits 7 days before the closing to demand this! Plus he lied and said he would make repairs to the house but apparently isn't.
If we do not close on the house, we both lose but he's too dumb to realize that. Heck, he's the one on unemployment since last July. So if anyone should be desperate to sell, it should be him.
Boy, I really needed to vent here!
