Not such a jerk after all... Fjord Girl: I'm so going to get blasted for this one, but who cares. I'm probably making up for that men being jerks post. You see how nice I am about giving people a second chance? LOL.
That guy I met on POF? He messaged me today when I got back from work, told me he hadn't seen me in days and asked me if I wanted to go for dinner since he's leaving on vacation tomorrow. I went, we ate, we talked and he was very nice. I suppose he has a sense of humour I haven't completely gotten to know and to be honest I haven't had the best of weeks so it ticked me off when he launched his (in)famous line about jerking off.
Anyhoo, conversation moved around WWII and Canada's National Defense (he's an army guy) and I found it rather interesting. He managed to make me laugh a few times, told me he got kinda worried after he read one of my MSN personal messages about giving up (divorce stuff I was referring to), that he enjoys talking to me and that we should do more stuff after he comes back from vaca. This is definitely just friendship material and I think it's cool. I guess next time he pulls a line that doesn't make me feel comfortable, I will just tell him.
And that's it. Not such a jerk after all, I'm just high maintenance.

Re: Not such a jerk after all... trapped: I think often times things get lost in translation when communicating via inst msg, text, email..whatever type of electronic communication it may be. Something meant to be said in jest gets interpreted completely different. Something to try to keep in mind going forward.
