Conquering The Fear... yella: ... of being alone.
This is a big issue for me, so do any of you have any tips or stories of how you've conquered your fear of being alone?
How do you handle doing the big things on your own, like vacations or weekends?
How do you handle going to parties and such on your own?
The things I have down pat are shopping, the kids' school stuff and activites, and family gatherings. I've been used to doing that stuff alone for quite some time, but I've never done weekends or vacations without another adult with me.
I'd like to get over this fear and become more independent in this aspect, but I need a little guidance. :-\
Re: Conquering The Fear... Feel: Smiley,
I know what you mean... I would love to take a weekend off with some friends and just laugh or cry or drink our faces off...
But maybe you and a friend could go out for a dinner 1x every 2 weeks...
Re: Conquering The Fear... yella: Thanks, Feel. I actually should have been more specific. I'm talking more about going on weekends and vacations with just me and the boys.
They can be pretty overwhelming, and I'm nervous about being able to handle them both out of our comfort zones. Probably a silly thing to worry about, but this is all new to me.
Re: Conquering The Fear... thehitekrednek: You can do anything you put your mind to, Smiley. The boys will be fine on vacation, or just a day outing. Give them something to be responsible for, such as taking care of the cooler, or fire wood. They will help you.
Re: Conquering The Fear... Feel: SMILEY,
No boy can be more energetic than my son... lol
No worries you bring their favorite toy and tell them about the bad man... they should listen... ok maybe it's not that easy, my son is only 3, he loves the movie Nanie Macphee, but if I say she coming or I will call her, he freaks and holds on to my neck! ;D
