Re: Conquering The Fear... Goddess: Oh honey! I agree with Spiker Biker here.. you can do anything you set your mind too!
And just think of the memories your boys are going to have! I have known men in my life that grew up with just their mom..and they had EVEN more respect for them because they did those scary things.. Like take the vacations and go on the outings.
Remember the defintion of fear sweetie.. False Evidence Appearing Real.. You think you already have evidence that you are going to fail at this.. or that you will not be able to do it.. but its all false. You are a great mother and you have great sons... just hold your nose and jump in! ;D

Re: Conquering The Fear... yella: I didn't realize how weird this all was going to be for me. I'm seeing fears I've never admitted to before. ::)
But thank you for your insight and suggestions. I'll take everything said here seriously and apply it when it's needed, so this isn't all for nothing. I promise!
Re: Conquering The Fear... Roseville: Smiley,
I'm taking my boys alone on a 12 hour car ride (they are 2 & 4) Granted, it is to visit with their grandparents, but I've never even taken them out of town alone before - so it's a HUGE step for me. I realize that I'll have some help with them while I'm down there for 2 weeks, but the fact that I'm even making this journey is a really big leap of faith for me.
Maybe with your boys, you could try something small first, like taking them to a local state park or somewhere to camp. Camping can be lots of fun, and boys usually love looking for worms and bugs! Another thing that you might try is to start out with a short vacation, like a long weekend, and gradually you can work your way into longer trips.
You'll do it - you're strong and perfectly capable of doing this - and you and your boys will probabaly have a better time than ever!
Re: Conquering The Fear... yella: Thank you!!! I know you know how I feel then! ;)
LOL!! But, we'll skip the bug hunting *shudder*, I can do the worm thing, but the bugs... not so much.
Camping is a good idea. I'm sure I can find a small pop up tent that doesn't require a 6ft person to pitch it!
Re: Conquering The Fear... Feel: I am in stuck mode on raising or diciplining my son, and if the Nanni thing works I gotta do it... He says to already he doeswn't like me or I'm not your friend, I'm daddy's...
Anyway he does like to help out.. he will set the table for me while I cook, becuase he wants to be near me.. he also sweeps and helps set the bed... Oh and he takes care of his bird or I will throw it away...
Something funny happened the other day... I was in the washroom and the little bugger was walking around the apartment , holding the buggie by the tail and upside down trying to make him fly.
Poor bird it's gonna have a heart attack!
