Superman turning leaf: OK Brandon Routh as Superman doesn't need to fly or do anything to sweep me off my french-pedicured feet. What a pretty face! Deeeelishous eye candy!
The highlight of the flick aside from Mr. Beautiful is Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor. He is oh so feistyyy!
Before (or was it after ?) the credits roll, they paid tribute to Chris Reeve and his wife. I thought that was so touching and well, apropo.
Going back to Brandon, there are loud whispers he is, (horrors!), gay. :o

That's true in the comics as well. They grew up together in Smallville as teeny-boppers. I think Supes stopped aging at about 24 or so.

Of course, when was the last time I actually paid attention to what the critics said? Haha. IMHO, it's going to be really hard to fill the shoes of Christopher Reeve, so my expectations are set pretty high.
The thing is, I hate it when they fill the roles with these pretty young things like Kate Bosworth. I thought Margot Kidder was infinitely more believable as Lois Lane. She was edgy. Kate Bosworth looks like an old Skipper doll I used to play with, not a gritty reporter to offset ladylike Clark Kent.
