Re: Superman picadilly: really? I've been only reading rave rave reviews of the movie. hmmm... u have a link to the bad reviews? or maybe i'm not looking hard enough. lol
Kate is a bit too young in my book too... i mean, if superman left the earth for 5 or 6 years... it means Lois Lane was a star reporter for the Planet when she was 16....er... right....
Brandon is the same age that Christopher Reeve was in the early Superman movies, which plays about right. This movie is supposed to be Superman 3 the way it should have been made...

I enjoyed Ned Beatty as Otis in the first films. Remember Luthors' bumbling sidekick? Otisville!? It would be kinda cool to see him and Hackman in a cameo.

The thing is, I hate it when they fill the roles with these pretty young things like Kate Bosworth. I thought Margot Kidder was infinitely more believable as Lois Lane. She was edgy. Kate Bosworth looks like an old Skipper doll I used to play with, not a gritty reporter to offset ladylike Clark Kent.

Thats my gripe about what I have seen from the movie so far. With the excepion of Langella as the editor and Spacey as LL(I bet they will be good), the casting and overall "look" of the characters seems to be tailored to a specific target audience. That is...they all look like WB network characters.
From what I see from the trailers it doesn't seem like they are holding very true to the comic book Superman either. We'll see how the movie turns out....
Re: Superman Lumpy: It got a very tepid review from Mick Lasalle in the S.F. Chronicle this morning. It ripped Kate Bosworth pretty bad. Apparently she wears a wig. The review cited Spacey and Parker Posey as being the only bright spots. Ah hell, I'll see it anyway.
