Sexism? brokenbaby: So...today I was using a gas powered weed whacker :o omg shocking I know, to clear, well weeds, from the edges of my lawn etc. Places where my mower wont go.

Twice during this people passing by stop and say something like "you should let your husband do that, don't hurt yourself blah blah blah."
The first time I smiled and said I chose to I enjoy yard work, which is the truth and I knew these people they are nice just old fashioned. Second time I just about lost it. "Okay, as a matter of fact I am perfectly capable of running this damned weed trimmer , do you see the REST of my property? (I have three acres) Yes, okay, I don't have a husband, so who the hell do you think did that? Thank you for your concern, enjoy your walk."
*Pause for station identification*
Yup, I'm a woman, 110%. Hips, boobs and fingernails to prove it. ARGH. Because I am a WOMAN does not mean I am INCAPABLE of 'man's work'. Why do people act like this? And what happened to minding your own f'ing business? And if they were so concerned, he, the young robust man in the second couple, could have volunteered to do it. ::)
