Self Respect Fjord Girl: A few months ago I had a little adventure with the sexiest guy I've met in my life. There is something about his personality that's like a magnet and the chemistry between us is scary. The story's quite long, so I won't give details. I'd known him for a few years, before he confessed he liked me when he found out I was separated. Anyhoo... That's not the point. The point is, he's got a girlfriend now and he keeps asking when I'll go to Montreal so we can hook up. Then today he said that he wants to come and visit, and as tempting as it is... My answer was NO.
Why? Because he just wants to have some fun. He won't leave his girlfriend or the place or whatever, and offer me a relationship. And that is not what I want. I'm not someone's fling anymore, and like hell I'm going to become the OW. If I don't respect myself, who is going to, huh?
I have to give myself some credit for all the things I'm letting go of these days that I know I can do without. Now, where's the chocolate? I need a treat!
Re: Self Respect snkpack: Good for you. I too am of the belief that regardless of whether I am ready for a relationship or not, I will never knowingly resort to being the OW.

We had an "Open" Relationship meaning we liked each others company but kept our options open
That may sound strange to some but it is more the norm sometimes than you would know...
Maybe you are not the "other" woman but rather someone he has interest in
That would have to be determined through communication...

Yes, he does. I don't want to be the reason for a broken heart, especially mine.
And JNA said he could be interested. I know for a fact he is, but he won't pursue a relationship as long as I'm 5 hours away. He clearly stated that if I were in Montreal, things could get serious. Since I don't plan to leave this place any time soon and he doesn't do the long distance thing, I won't play girl of the weekend either.
