but since he's got one of them...you need to talk to him to decide what's going on...
1) you keep one, he keeps the other - but would that be healthy for the birds...probably not...
2) decide who gets 'custody' - tough one, but necessary...
3) if one does keep both, then are you guys going to have 'visitation' rights...although we know what happened this time...
i would get the bird back and tell me f- off...

I know that I have to get over it. There is nothing that I can do about it now. He said he is going to keep her and has no plans to give her back. He refuses to take the other one.
I did talk to the cops and they told me that he has every right to keep her. That I had given her to him and he didn't come into my home and steel her.
I just don't know what else to do. I feel so bad for them.

This is a very sad situation made even worse by a very vengeful ex. I'm so sorry :(
Re: Any pet owners? I Need advice! Bird: Technically you didn't give him the bird to keep...so you can actually get the bird back as it is your property...basically it's still theft- so whatever cop you spoke to doesn't have a clue.
Re: Any pet owners? I Need advice! Pepper: He said that I can't prove that I didn't give him the bird to keep. So, it is just his word against mine. I can't afford a lawyer to fight this one out in court.
Also, the nearest pet store is like 6 hours away. We don't have one anymore in our town. I am more worried about her than I am him. He is 10 years old and he has been alone before. She is 2 1/2 and I raised her from a baby. She grew up with him being there all the time. I know how upset he is. I can't even imagine how she is.
It just breaks my heart that someone could be that selfish. I was willing to give them both up so they could be together.
