Re: What makes you happy? timetobefree: What makes me happy:
My job and knowing that I really am making a difference in the lives of children and families every time I come to work
My friends and family; I truly have great people around me
My intelligence; it might sound conceited, but it does make me happy; I enjoy a good intellectual conversation/debate, reading, learning, questioning, gaining knowledge, etc.
The thought of my future children
My house; it's become a comfort zone for T and I, and we are very content to stay home, watching movies, reading, playing games, cooking, decorating, just being
My cats; sitting and petting them and watching how content they are is very enjoyable for me
Cooking; I have recently discovered that I really enjoy cooking, learning more about different foods, experimenting with spices, making my own recipes with ideas from other recipes
Watching football; yes, it's silly, but I love football; and as everyone knows, I am obsessed with Brett and the Packers. But it really does make me happy to watch football (oh, and fantasy football was a blast)
Travelling; I love to see new places, learn about them, experience them. I love planning for trips and the anticipation of a trip. Travelling has also made me appreciate coming home more.
And finally, chocolate also makes me happy. It doesn't make my hips happy, but I'm working on it!
What makes you happy? yella: Everyone keeps telling me to find out what makes me happy. I have no freakin idea!
I find something, I get bored, I change it. There's nothing solid that makes me happy. I can't even say that it's my kids 100% of the time because I'm raising them on my own, and they are human, and it's tough work.
Yes, there are times when I get very, very happy with them, but they aren't that one thing. Being a parent is a job, not always fun and games.
So, besides kids or something similar, I want to know what makes you happy. Maybe it'll help give people like me some perspective.
Re: What makes you happy? fkunone: In essence, this is what makes me happy:
My gratitude for all my blessings, mistakes, successes and shortcomings. Without this gratitude, I wouldn't be able to take the good, the bad and the ugly.
