how do you know? icwtsmnl: i need the wisdom of all you wonderful Ojarians on two matters please:
- when you just feel down in general, how do you know whether its heartache you feel, versus unhappiness with other daily aspects of your life (job, social life, anything)? I'm trying to focus on the REAL cause, but I don't know what it is.
- how do I know if Ojar is helping me (by reading the advice of others and seeing that I'm not alone in my pain), or whether its pushing back my healing by keeping me glued to breakup topics?
Re: how do you know? jrios29: wow! That's a lot hun.
To help with the first question,
I know that feeling. You have no idea what emotion belongs to what situation. What helped me was to fix and find a solution to every situation, and if there was no solution, I prayed for acceptance. I got sick of wondering what went wrong, what I did, letting this affect every single aspect of my life. It was bad enough that I'm going through this, then it haunted me every where i went. It still does sometimes, but for the most part, I attack each problem to make sure I can come to a resoulution that I can accept and move on with. This took a lot of time to develop, it doesn't happen over night.
The second question is fairly simple, and you have answered it yourself.....
You would have asked those questions if we were holding you back! ;D
Good luck sweeetie, and i pray that you find the strength needed in this situation.
Re: how do you know? icwtsmnl: thanks, jrios. i guess it makes sense to try to fix "every situation", but wow, that's a lot to do!!
Re: how do you know? thehitekrednek: To try to pick yourself up when you're down, I focus on my, "Happy Place", I know it sounds stupid, but it works for me 80% of the time. Just think of someplace safe, and warm, and wonderful, where you would go to escape the days frustrations. It takes some practice, but it does work.
As for us? If we weren't helping, you'd leave. Most people do leave once they feel better.
Good Luck
Re: how do you know? jrios29: I know it's a lot. I never said it was easy! ;) But once you start hacking away at the problems bit by bit, the burden just becomes a little easier to carry.
