HELP!! td7629: I need some advice on how to handle a situation that is happening right now... my ex took my sons on vacation starting last Friday at 4pm and they were to come home today at 4pm... I have tried to contact my sons all week via ex's cell phone... it was turned off... I called all day today and finally he answered to tell me they are still in FL.. I said"WHAT!!!" Why are you still there? When are you coming back?? He would not give me an answer and hung up on me... I am extremely upset right now and do not know what to do... He also lied to me and told me he could not give me another number to reach them because he would be traveling around.. I called back and demanded that he put my sons on the phone, he told me I had 30 seconds.. and I asked them where the were... they said"We are at Grandmom's... my ex would not provide me with the phone number there.. Please someone help me.. I am not letting him get away with this.. I am so tired of these games..This does not sound legal what he is doing...
Re: HELP!! sparks: I went through the same thing last year with my kids. Its gut-wrenching to think you cannot see or talk to your kids. Did he say when he was going to bring them back? If not, I would take the next step and call the police. If nothing else, they can point you in the right direction. I know that my divorce degree specifically states that I have to have contact information and trip itinerary when he takes the kids.
BTW, try not to panic ( this is hard. I have panicked myself over the same situation). Stay calm so that you can concentrate on getting them back.
Re: HELP!! td7629: Thank you so much Sparks... no he was being a real jerk and would not answer me about when they would be coming home. I have been calling my lawyer all day trying to get in touch with him to see what to do... he said the same exact thing as you to go to the police station and file a police report. Our divorce just finalized a few days ago and I still feel like he has the abilitly to control and manipulate me.. Will this ever end? I am so tired of this crap!
Re: HELP!! sparks: It will eventually end but who knows when. My divorce was final last August and I still go through the same crap. When my ex has the kids I dont know where they are at and I have to wait for them to contact me. I am a wreck when they are with him and so relieved when they return home. Its getting better. I have the court documents and the law on my side and I let him know that.
When you get your kids back, talk to your lawyer to see what you can do to keep this from happening again. I know that just by scaring the heck out of my ex, he will comply. Most people are afraid to be in trouble with the law.

Take him back to court and make him adhere to the guidelines set in his visitation rights...
Do not let him play games with you like this or use the kids as Pawns in his little game
Also goto Findlaw.com and ask Atty's there one the message board what you can do outside of that...
I would think Childrens Services would be a good place to start
