big trip...a little nervous LostTeacher: well ladies and gents.... tomorrow i take off for my one week holiday.
i am driving for 6-7 hours tomorrow, stopping and staying by myself in another province, then driving the rest of the way to my sister's.
i am going to spend time with my sister, my cousin and her baby. i am going to go to banff by myself, and maybe a few other things (like ikea!). after a week, my sister is coming home with me, and we are going to drive thru the states, and do some shopping down there.
this is a very big deal to me. this is a trip that was an annual event for me and my ex since '97. i've never gone the distance myself.
i am nervous. this is the longest drive for me, and i don't know how i am going to handle it myself. i know i will be able to stop whenever i want to, but i have never driven more than 3 hours at the most, so this is going to be a challenge.
but i am packed, i have a whole bunch of music, i have some snacks, i am going to make a lunch, and i think i am ready!
so i am going to go to bed to try to get some sleep before tomorrow.
if you don't see me around much for the next week or so, don't worry (not like many would notice! lol) i will be back.

I have done a couple road trips by myself some 6 hours some 9 hours and they can get boring, but at the same time kind of relaxing as long as you don't stress too much about the other drivers (I think thats the worst part) Have a great time on your vacation!

Don't second guess the time .. the drive .. the events --- just know you are doing it for you. Keep yourself distracted with the moments that catch you .. and make new moments to remember ..
I know you can do this ... and I know you know you can do this -- Hell .. it beats heading in to work yeah? Your picking up .. you are moving on and you are living your life for you ... there is nothing better to be doing right now ..

Re: big trip...a little nervous alonewith2: The ride out will be exciting in anticipation of seeing your sister. And on the ride back (which has always been the hardest for me) you'll have your sister with you. You should be fine.
Just think of it as a fun adventure! Relax, have a blast!!! ;)
