Need advice td7629: Hello everyone.. I need some advice here.. My son will be getting his ear operated on this Monday. My ex has told me that he wants to be there. I guess under normal circumstances this shouldn't be a huge issue. Nothing about our break up or divorce has been normal. He never made an attempt to come to any of his doctors visits and he is completely disrespectul to me and now all of a sudden wants to be superdad. I can not bear the thought of being in the same room with him for 5 hours. I keep thinking of everything possible to do so that I do not have to look or have any contact with him..books, magazines. I know that he will do everything possible to make this as unpleasant as possible. Any suggestions?

Re: Need advice td7629: Thanks RK.. but I don't even think I can look at him for all of the awful things he has done to me and my sons. I am actually getting a sick feeling in my stomach just thinking about it. 5 hours is a long time to be stuck in a room with someone you absolutely despise.

Re: Need advice confused101: I know it is. I used to feel the same way around my ex, and that was for an hour at a time.
But holding grudges does no good for you, just makes you feel crappy. I guess the next thing would be to pretend he doesn't exist. At least that will annoy him. There's something about annoying an ex that brings some satisfaction.
I think people should kill me with kindness.
