just to be sure.....
.

just to be sure..... gatorgirl: Hey all... the divorce papers have been written up and the ex has asked me to stop by the legal service he went to, and sign them.  Because the papers are a "contract" so to speak and he "swears" everything is uncontested... I want to have a attorney look over a copy of the divorce papers because I do not trust his man as far as a I could throw him.  Afterall he couldn't even tell me he had gone to have papers written up, I had to find a receipt.  He is not truthful...so I'm basically covering my a**?

Re: just to be sure..... kitkat: Yes, you have every right and reason to "check". If it's all on the up-an-up it shouldn't bother him a whit.

Don't put your sig on anything w/out making sure exactly what you're getting into.

Re: just to be sure..... gatorgirl: i thought so... never know what is in fine print ::)
Re: just to be sure..... gatorgirl: everything is ok with the paperwork, a simple dissolution of marriage.  nobody's trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes or anything like that.  I'm glad it will soon be a memory!
Re: just to be sure..... spooky: No matter how insignificant any particular phrase in legal papers seem, always have a lawyer verify what they say.
