Smiley, no, thank god I do not report to him, although he does have a more senior position than me and we work in the same dept (no lectures please). We have been floating back and forth between not talking, and talking/emailing/joking/venting. you're totally right that I have to think of him as strictly a coworker, but ugh, that's ridiculously hard! especially with a broken heart. because underneath the business circumstances, I would think that with our past, he'd have a little more caring for my feelings. but stupid me, he didn't care for my feelings when we were actually together, why would he care now? I have to stop expecting him to be a decent person. i should know better by now.
