Re: Too controversial for polite company? thehitekrednek: Leave the guy alone, especially you Freckles. You know we all have our ways of dealing with this shit. I like to get numb from the booze, so f*ck you Freckles, I drink, and I don't drive, I'm responsible. I'm just numbing the senses, maybe you should try it. Jesus, you make it sound like those of us who drink are axe murders. Grow the f*ck up, this is the real world. Keep your sh*t to yourself.
Re: Too controversial for polite company? ATLfoodie: Very eloquently put Spike.
Re: Too controversial for polite company? Chey: What was eloquent about it? Freckles typed 3 sentences none of which made anyone else out to be a drunk or pointed fingers at anyone else and yet you cussed him out like he was abusing your entire family. "Dealing with this shit"? Exactly what "shit" is Mel dealing with similar to yours?
Did I miss something in the Premium board that evoked that rather passionate rebutal to Freckles?
Re: Too controversial for polite company? katelyn: I don't know anyone who hasn't gotten behind the wheel at one point in their lives after having a few drinks. Not to say it's smart, even if you're barely buzzing, by law you're drunk.
Difference is Mel got caught, and he's famous.
Honestly, I wouldn't want things I've said (or done) whilst drunk broadcast for the entire world to see.
And at least he's man enough to extend a heartfelt apology.

So this whole Mel Gibson thing has really whipped up a lot of talk. People have opinions but are too afraid to voice them. Talk of shunning him professionally...any thoughts on this?

As far as his opinions go, I think he has every right to them, whether anybody agrees with them or not.
Now given that he does work in Hollywood, and if Hollywood were really dominated by Jews as he probably thinks, one would wonder at the wisdom of expressing such opinions while hoping to retain employment.
On the other hand, the man is richer than God Almighty already, he doesn't really need the work, so I guess shunning wouldn't matter one way or the other.
