Re: Divorce - A "Sin"?

Re: Divorce - A "Sin"? sheeps: There are circumstances where Divorce is allowed by God in the Bible. Particularly in the instance of a vexatious and and adulterous woman who demands a divorce. The Bible commands the Husband to grant her wish.

Now as for sin, in most Christian faiths, we are forgiven, not only for the original sin, but all sin, even that which we've not yet committed. However, this is not license to sin in greater detail.

It is not what we do, acts, in this life that opens the doors to Heaven, it is our beliefs. We are sinners and will sin. God knows that. But if we repent and have true faith in our hearts and truly try to serve Him, then at the time of accounting, he will judge what was in your heart, not what you did in this world.

Who here has been taught that according to the Bible divorce is not permitted and only has grounds when adultary has occured?

Apparently my father has been taught that.  Ive heard quite a bit how I wont be saved when the rapture comes because I was living in sin with my ex husband and that it was sinful for us to divorce.

Weird. My dad was twice divorced AND lived with at least 2 women I know of before marrying them.

Oh well.

Re: Divorce - A "Sin"? katelyn: This thread is not meant for people to get into an argument of whether or not they believe in God or hate the church.

It's irrelevant to the question.

Thanks.

But that was different, didn't you know?  ::)

I really don't think it's for anyone on earth to decide, myself. I mean, sin, by it's very definition, is God's jurisdiction...  ;)

Re: Divorce - A "Sin"? katelyn: The Bible was created by God. Hello.

;)

At least, that's what we Christian's believe.
