The Divorce is finalized...
.

The Divorce is finalized... sheeps: After not receiving a decree, I finally called the court clerk and she told me the judge signed the decree on the 17th of July.

I ordered two copies and will forward one to Ex. She also has to sign a quit-claim on the house deed, but I found some leverage on that one.

I found a pack of letters written to her from her daughter while she was at boarding school (for recalcitrant adolescents), and I'm certain they are quite dear to her. I told her I would forward them to her when I receive the executed quit claim. Just to discourage her from jerking me around on it.

Oh well.

Now what?

Re: The Divorce is finalized... LostTeacher: now....it's time to celebrate!
other than that....not sure what else to do....trying to figure that one out myself.

Re: The Divorce is finalized... sheeps: Frankly, I'm not one of those who look upon this with any joy at all. I mourn the loss of my marriage every single day.  It is not what I wanted, but what she wanted.

While I may feel a sense of closure, it is end of period of failure in my life I'll not soon forget.
Re: The Divorce is finalized... LostTeacher: thank god that i am not the only one that felt that way.
i put on a face when mine happened, but inside, it was like the end of something that i didn't want to end.
i hope your day turned out ok.

Re: The Divorce is finalized... alonewith2: I don't look at my marriage ending as something to be proud of either.  I am proud of the first few years of my relationship/marriage.  I will keep those memories close to my heart, and then shut the door and move on.  Memories allow us to revist that time period like a chapter in a book.  Though I will admit to being excited to see how the rest of the book (my life) plays out.  ;)
