Re: The Divorce is finalized... yella: I'm one of those who's proud of the divorce. Not for the reasons you think though.

My divorce was a huge accomplishment for me, and something I'm proud of. Instead of being tied to a hellish marriage, I went against the grain, and against what I was "supposed" to do, and went on my own.

It was the best thing I've ever done.

I understand that a lot of people don't share my pride in it, and I understand the pain from it, but I hope that doesn't hold you back from getting what you want and deserve in life. I hope you can try to take this someday, as a positive experience, and build the life you were meant to have.

Frankly, I'm not one of those who look upon this with any joy at all. I mourn the loss of my marriage every single day.  It is not what I wanted, but what she wanted.

While I may feel a sense of closure, it is end of period of failure in my life I'll not soon forget.

You just described how I feel. I will feel relieved when this is over, but I certainly won't feel like celebrating anything. I'm just waiting to exhale.

Re: The Divorce is finalized... flyaway: I'm right there with you people.  Someone cheerily told me at work today, "you're better off now"

well, I may be different...but I'm not sure it's all positive.  :-\

mine isn't final yet.  But papers were signed today.
