Go check out their group site and scope out their current members. If they seem like a cool group of people then join up. You can always delete yourself later if you find it not to your liking.

Thanks for the tip lumpy, I did check them out a little. I'm debating it though, I want to meet new people and that's one reason I started the thing, but something about that is just... fishy... :-\
