Re: Going out alone? sheeps: You're in Cali, unless you are in like Whittier or something, there must be another town nearby?
Re: Going out alone? momuv3: Whittier?  OMG Im laughing.  There is another town 45 or so miles away.  Its a college town.  Guess I can go out with all the 'kids"

Re: Going out alone? sheeps: Now you're talking. You see, firstly, they are all friendly and accepting. Secondly, there is "Faculty".

And here I am, sitting all by my little self at the coffee house, having my chai, talking to the waiters who pass by, saying hi to people from school who come here often and feeling good about this.

Going out alone isn't that bad. I even went shopping, but I won't say how much I spent on a pair of Merrell shoes. Oh God...  :-X

I could do the coffee house thing (heck maybe I will  :) and maybe I'll run into sheeps  :D).  That I can handle.  Shopping I could do alone.  But no movies or bar or anything outwardly social...

Funny, sheeps.  I am 'faculty' (but often get mistaken for a student  :-\).  And I am nursing faculty, which means I am amongst women.  No hot male nursing professors  :-[
Re: Going out alone? LostTeacher: i am getting a bit better going out on my own....i do the coffee shop thing, dinner out, shopping.  just not brave enough for the bar.
and i just can't, for the life of me, meet people well. i am usually a pretty good with people i know, but not at meeting strangers.  put me in an actual situation, and i'm ok.  like a class, or seminar or something.
just don't know what i am going to do.....
