This actually works as a female too....that's why my guy friends LOVE to take me out with them. I make as many female friends as I do male when I go out. It's just fun to talk to people!

Its a lot easier for women to walk up to strangers and make friends... most guys get the "what are you? a crazy stalker?" look when they do that.
Re: Going out alone? Plucky: I guess my city is different. We're all pretty much laid back folks here. You run across the occasional butt-head, but it's pretty rare.
