Cheers, Your Ex Ramsey: I've been corresponding with my ex via email concerning settling our affairs and finishing up the divorce. At the end of the latest email to me she wrote "Cheers, (her name)". Cheers? She left me and decided I wasn't worth loving and staying with, but cheers. I feel like I want to yell at her and tell her how much this has devastated me and that saying, "cheers" to me seems really stupid. Just thinking this stuff hurts me. Bah.
Re: Cheers, Your Ex Crystal_Blue_024: Hi Ramsey,
It's amazing how a simple salutation can have such a profound affect on us... It makes us wonder, was it intentional? Is she really so happy that she can just sign off with a friendly greeting like I am nothing? I know, it hurts... All I can say is try to take everything as a grain of salt, try not to dwell on the little things that happen like this... I know easier said than done, right... But we gotta try :-)
Re: Cheers, Your Ex Ramsey: Yeah, you're right Crystal. Thanks. I know I shouldn't be reacting like that to one word in an email. My stupid brain and emotions just aren't working right.
I hope you have a great day Crystal. Take care.
Ramsey
Re: Cheers, Your Ex Fjord Girl: I'm sorry, hon! I don't know if they are idiots or just act like one.
If it makes you feel better, I got a dumping e-mail, on my birthday: "Sold the house, moving somewhere else, don't come back. Good luck!" -- Good luck? What do they think they are doing? Fixing things with a bunch of non-sense?
Don't let it get under your skin. They try to act normal, but hell... They feel guilty.
Re: Cheers, Your Ex poppy: that sucks, ramsey. my ex wrote "keep your chin up, things will get better soon" at the end of a note two days after i moved out of our house and left my whole life behind. i lost it! he created this horrible mess and had the nerve to say such a thing!
i have learned that you can't read into those things, you just have to ignore it (advice i need to follow, BTW!).
chin up, buddy!
