Re: myspace?? yella: So, you're blaming the internet for cheating? Seems a little easy to me.

Cheating happens whether there is an internet or not. It all starts at home. Whether it's a problem with the cheater, or something missing in the marriage, cheating has a root cause. It goes way beyond myspace or the internet.

Sure it's easier to meet people through the internet, but it's not the root cause of the problem. Just my 2 cents.

So in your opinion, what does make a cheater?  I'm curious to know.

MySpace.

Starts with temptation (not to be confused with The Temptations-great group)
Temptation needs an avenue to travel.....

That avenue is.....Drum Roll......MySpace or any other of a thousand similar sites, chat rooms, "friend" finder, etc....

Al Gore should be punished for ever inventing the internet :D
[/quote">

Ya dont blame the avenue..you the blame the cheater. Infidelity and cheating husbands/wives have been around a lot longer than Myspace and chat rooms .

[/quote">

Correct, but the avenue has "empowered" and "encouraged" so many that would not have been to be.

I know of at least one thread on Ojar that started with something like, This is something I would never have done.....Met someone online......Started seeing.....

Think of all the sickos out there that may not have ever done somthing like kid p0rn, but the internet makes it easy to come across, next thing you know, we have another child molester in the world.  The avenue makes it too easy to get some things and ends up creating or bringing out things in people that may never have been brought out.....So yes in a way you can blame the avenue.

I guess then bookstores, hotels, restaurants, stores, political conventions, airports, sporting events and workplaces are also the devil huh? Because these are also places or avenues where people easily meet others and can "empower and encourage" people to cheat on their spouses if they so choose to.

Wow! If we look hard enough...there evil is all around us then, isn't there?

It has nothing to do with the avenue. It has to do with people making poor decisions. If there was no such thing as Myspace or internet chatrooms, the guy who chooses to cheat would find another means.  For all we know they probably do.

Re: myspace?? world traveler: I did the myspace thingy once.  I had a really nice page.  Then someone hacked it and post all kinds of crazy bullitens using my name.  It took me 2 months and one virus to finally get MySpace to delete my account.

It would be cool if they could make it more secure.
