Re: Am I wrong? yella: Thanks, Jannette. That helps.
Hopefully the driver will be ok, especially since he has a family. Not that it makes any difference. In any event, hearing stuff like that still hits pretty close to home.
Re: Am I wrong? LostTeacher: i don't think it's bad to be a caring and concerned person.
not long after my ex and i split, i found out thru someone else that his dad had cancer. i was very upset, but didn't know what to do.
so i ended up sending his mom and dad a card, and my ex a card....just telling them that i was sorry, and hoped for the best.
just because you are no longer married doesn't mean you stop caring for everyone that was a part of that life of yours.
just my opinion.

Re: Am I wrong? yella: To add to it all, my ex called me back and I found out that he talked to the driver right before the accident happened, so my ex's voice was the last person he heard before the roll over.
This is the one major fear I always had when we were married, and here it is... happened to someone so close to him.
I could tell in his voice that he was severely shaken up by what happened, as anyone would be, and while we were talking, he just kept saying that he stomach was turning. I don't think he knew what to think or do. All I really know is that he's going to the hospital in Boston to see him, and be with the driver's wife and family. That's the one really good thing I can say about my ex. When someone was in trouble, he was right there. Too bad it didn't apply to his wife and marriage. :-\ :'(
I extended a hand. That's the best I can do.
Re: Am I wrong? jannette Garcia: Smiley you did the right thing. After all he is the father of your kids. Hopefully his friend is doing better.
Re: Am I wrong? yella: He called me again last night, and his friend was still in surgery. He shattered the left side of his skull above the left eye, and split his skull down the center. His brain swelled up so badly, that they had to actually remove part of it to relieve the swelling. I felt awful.
From what I heard, the accident was caused by someone in a car. This happens too often. People don't look where they're going, and they think that trucks can just stop on a dime, well they can't!!!
Trucks are very large, and if you know anything at all about science, you know that stopping something that large and heavy takes time and force! They carry too much kinetic energy, and that doesn't just stop just because you do!
A man is fighting for his life in the hospital because someone decided not to pay attention and take care behind the wheel of a car! The father of three small children may never fully recover, if he even makes it! If he does, he may never walk, speak, or interact in a normal fashion again! That infuriates me!
Everyone is always in a freakin rush to get somewhere, and they don't think about the safety of others. But then again, why should they? They don't have to worry about it, right?
