I would keep the conversation on the kids, answer the phone but say let Hello, me get the kids for you hold on. If you are looking to maintain a friendship here (I have) then keep it simple and only talk about the kids....way too many feelings right now to talk to him. Trust me it never ends well! :-X Give it some time and talk to him when YOU are ready!!
Re: never felt so lost chum: ya i have to talk to him some as we have kids and he is still in the house for a week or so. i HAVE to be civil for my kids they have enough to deal with, without that stress.my kids and there dad is really close and i don't want to come between them.as for 8 hours from family i think i am gonna go home. Way to hard to not be around them the phone or IM just isn't the same when you need a hug. i just hate to uproot them and make them need to make new friends with all that is going on alreaady. if it wasn't for them i don't know where i'd be right now! they are my life right now. i just hate this not know what to to about anything. i have never felt so lost in my life, everything is spinning and i can't stop it
