I have a tendency to jump all out towards a relationship to quickly, which is scaring the other person off. I am tired of getting hurt by something that I do not know how to control. How do you people stop yourselves from doing that?

In the wake of the breaking up or demise of a marriage there are too many emotions involved that will leave you realing and in this hazziness making decisions pertaining to relationship just isn't naturally a good thing.As time goes by and you heal emotionally and begin to accept was has already happened,you begin to gain a new outlook generally speaking,you will be better able to concentrate and be more emotionally ready to deal with dating again.Time is a healer.If your a dancer and break a leg your not going to get up and start dancing again anytime soon.Let some time go by and it will all make more sense to you later on.

Also, I would have serious concerns about someone who didn't run away. Needy, clingy people are like bug repellant. People tend to be attracted to confident, independent people.
I feel like a broken record when I say this, and maybe I should change my tagline, but only two whole people can make a healthy relationship, not two half-people or one half and one whole person. Sounds to me like you're not quite ready to start dating again. When you're ready to start dating, you do it for the fun and social factor, not for the "shopping for a replacement" factor.
