I don't know how it works, I guess you have to learn to think a little before you get carried away. And after divorce you want someone to want you so much, it isn't easy to get control of the situation.
I really don't know what the trick is. For me it was more of trial and error and a lot of thinking about the consequences, so that keeps me from going bananas before the right time.
It also depends on the person. I think we all should be careful with the things we say.

I made the same mistake. It's trial and error. The heart does not listen to logic. After a few failed realtionships I spent a lot of time find out what I wanted in life and improving myself for myself.
I tried to find out what besides sex made me happy. It was my kids, family and friends. I put more time with them and everthing worked out.
