A Minor Issue that Turned Major!!! kramdensdaddy: My wife and I have been having an ongoing problem; it started off as a minor problem, but lately has turned into a major issue.
Here'e the problem: we can hardly ever agree on what TV programs to watch!! She likes channels like TLC and HGTV; I like to watch sports, comedy shows, game shows, etc. It seems like almost every night anymore, she's upstairs in the bedroom watching her shows, and I'm down in the basement watching my programs. She has those two channels on about 90% of the time and I get tired of hearing them sometimes.
Well many of you may think this is very minor; it may be, but we have been getting into some rather heated arguments lately about it. We both accuse each other of being selfish etc. I told her that as husband and wife we should be able to agree on shows we like to watch together. She responds that there is nothing good on any of the other channels.
The only thing we sometimes do is rent a movie and watch it together; other than that, we hardly ever watch TV together.
My wife says I'm being childish; while I believe she is being childish. Do any of you have any advise you can give me (us) on how to help solve this crisis? Like I said, it started off small, but has now turned into a major problem. I has really been bothering me lately.

Re: A Minor Issue that Turned Major!!! twine: my first bit of advice is to get rid of the tv in the bedroom, last thing you are spose to be doing in a bedroom is watching tv, yes i had one in my room to and whenever we would start to talk bout problems the tv would get turned on and would never deal with our provlems, as for deciding what to watch is there any shows that you two enjoy together, and if not, try watching some of her shows with her and maybe she will do the same with you.If not, cancel your tv programing then you can't fight over what to watch.

TV is such a stupid reason to fight. in my opintion you are both being selfish, childish and just plan silly. Find somethign better to do then whatch tv before its gets out of hand and becomes a monster that ends in Divorce.
