Re: Business casual attire sosad05: I think invest in some cute black or tan mules. As it gets colder, some cute black boots are good too. I work in the hospital too but on the floor so I wear scrubs. However, when I have to attend an inservice or class, I like black or khaki pants (cute ones like from Express, not mom'd out ones). I also like solid color tops. You should be able to buy a couple pair of pants that you can mix -n- match with different tops. Thats why I like black or khaki pants.
Re: Business casual attire twetifb: I wear capri's year round with stiletto mules in the summer and loafer mules or stilettos in the winter. In the summer I pair my pants with lots of sleevless button collar shirts or knit sweater tanks. In the fall, mostly button shirts with a light sweater tied around my neck. In the winter, sweaters of all different weights, lengths, and styles. Plus turtlenecks....I love turtlenecks! I usually add a knee length skirt or two in the winter that I pair with a turtleneck and knee high leather boots. My work outfts are pretty simple but I add fun shoes or jewelry to spice it up a bit.
Business casual attire superwife: It is back to school for me (teaching, that is it). So my dilemma is back. What to wear?
Almost all of my colleagues are....well...older. Their attire is quite different than what I invision myself wearing. I can't do the suit thing (I look like a kid playing dress up). And quite frankly, I'd rather be a little stylish (but being conservative, to an extent).
The other problem is my budget. It is tight, to say the least.
I was wondering what others wear to work, and where do you shop. Technically, I should not be wearing sandals (in the hospital, health violation without hosiery), so that makes capri pants difficult. i am doing the skirt thing, but still need appropriate footwear (damn I love sandals)
Re: Business casual attire td7629: Hi Superchick... I love clothes.. Unfortunately, sometimes I do have to get dressed up in suits for work when I am meeting with clients and so forth but when I do not have meetings.. I love wearing skirts, maybe a nice pair of boots (not gogo boots or anything..LOL) and a nice shirt.. it always looks nice.. and stylish.. just a suggestion..
Re: Business casual attire tara: I'm a student again, so I can wear whatever I want (although I think I'm a creature of habit, because I've only worn jeans on Fridays), but when I worked in a business-casual environment, I wore a lot of skirts (and sandals, sorry). During the winter, though, I wore cords/slacks and sweaters (usually with boots).
How about mules? Target has some decent ones, and they cover the toe and can be worn with or without hose.
